For a moment that is. Serafina is 98% potty trained now. We only have very rare accidents. I wish though that Mr. Rogers was on more often in this house so that Serafina could have watched the "you won't be flushed down the potty" episode and know he was telling the truth.
Athena is so full of life it's crazy. The crawling and cruising and adventure in this child is something fierce and it's different than Serafina. Serafina has this zest for game, laughter and adventure, but it's in this scientific crazy dangerous way. Biker chick with a guitar strapped to her back kind of way. Athena on the other hand is like a hurricane or tornado. She has arrived, conquered and then moved on goodbye. Athena is the "Ding Dong the witch is dead" song of energy. I don't know what's going on but it sure looks interesting and then there it went.
Juliet had the first GATE testing in December with a nonverbal test. Her results came in the mail this last week and she was one correct answer short of the cutoff for being GATE recognized. There are other tests that she can take, if her teacher puts her name on a list I guess. I'm just not sure what to make of it and my mind is of a lot of thoughts.
Unrelated, my children are thrilled that some other children came by selling candy bars for fund raising. They had no idea that such a thing could happen. Now they just need to discover the glory of the ice cream truck this summer.

I think my computer has javascript woes. In the past, I had troubles with blackboard loading it's discussion boards tool and it was javascript related. That semester I had to log on with internet explorer instead of firefox, and then I haven't really tested the blackboard system since because the other school used a different system.
Now that I'm back to blackboard, the javascript issues continue. I can read the discussion boards, but when I click reply the browser completely shuts down by disappearing. Both firefox and IE do this. When I called tech support they explained it was a known error and I just need an earlier version of firefox. I highly suspect that even with an earlier version, it won't matter because it is javascript and not browser troubles. I changed computers, to Homer's laptop that has mostly the same set up but not the corrupting conflicting javascript issues that mine has, and the page loads up just fine. So now I'm on hold again waiting to whine away that they have given me the wrong answer.

This is my first time attending a course that grades on a curve. Is this worthy of an OMGWTFBBQ? I'm leaning towards yes.
This week has been the week of phone tag. Each and every phone call has been me needing to then call someone else to get a suitable answer and then that person referring to someone else. Most of the time the phone calls have been circular too, ending back at the first person called. Some of the calls I wasn't allowed to speak because they wouldn't accept verbal authorization from Homer, which was entirely frustrating. When we were first married, Homer had no patience for making any phone calls in which things needed to be resolved with companies. It would take approximately two minutes of discussion and Homer would blow his top. Over the years, he's mellowed out a bit and is able to make basic request phone calls without losing his cool, but definitely nothing like the wild goose chases that happened this week.
Unrelated to the wild goose chase phone calls, I am within a spits distance of transferring schools. All of the course I am registered for this semester are actual degree required courses, and the application period for transferring comes up this August for Spring admission. I am thrilled.
I have a picture post coming up soon from pictures taken on Sunday. Over the weekend, Athena decided that two bottom teeth were not enough and grew four additional teeth on top. Her smile of pure joy turned to an embarrassed painful awkward smile.

AAA website lists 431 schools offering some sort of Anthropology type degree. Each page holds ten entries. I hope to have a shorter long list by the end of Sunday. Wish me luck.
I have to admit I'm rather brilliant waiting until the last minute like this to register for classes. Of the online courses left, I had old people classes to choose from. Nothing against old people I suppose, it's just I don't really have an interest in studying them. But I need six units to get back in the swing of school and to defer my loans. So old people classes it is. I'm also on the waiting list for two English writing courses. One I am the fourth on the list, the other I'm the sixth. If I get either, you can bet that I'm dropping the other courses I enrolled in!
